Wendy Chapman is a photographer living in the Midlands of England near Stratford Upon Avon. She was born and lived much of her life in the United States but since 2014 has called England her home.
Like many others Wendy began making images with a Brownie camera as a child. She casually photographed throughout her life but became bitten by the photography bug about 2007. She enjoys all aspects and genres of photography from macro and landscape to abstract and pinhole. Throughout these years Wendy has used a variety of Canon and Fuji cameras and more recently has returned to film photography using 35mm, medium format, and pinhole cameras.
Wendy participates in competitions and has been shortlisted twice in Landscape Photographer of the Year and won or placed in regional competitions both in the UK and the USA. As satisfying as doing well in a competition is the joy of photography is in the moment of making an interesting image and then being able to share it with others as a print. For Wendy this creative process is central to living a meaningful life.
Wendy’s images are on display at the Gallery at the Guild in Chipping Campden and After Art in Folkestone. Wendy is one of three female photographers who make up the group Take 3. Take 3 currently exhibits throughout the Midlands.
